The Woman’s Wednesday Club of Granbury offers annual scholarships to support women of Hood County who are pursuing higher education and demonstrating a commitment to their communities. These scholarships are designed to empower local women across various stages of their academic journeys, whether you are attending a four-year university, studying at Weatherford College, returning to school after a break, or pursuing a graduate degree.
To apply, candidates just need to submit an application packet that includes a data form, a personal statement about your career goals and community service, a current resume, and a college transcript.
Since 1977, our primary mission has been centered on removing financial obstacles for women seeking technical certifications and higher education. Managed entirely by our volunteer membership, our scholarship program is sustained primarily through our premier annual fundraiser, the "Taste of Granbury" (TOG).
Through the remarkable generosity of our community and corporate sponsors, our efforts have allowed us to distribute $224,175 in educational grants to 96 local women since 2020. Our awards empower scholars to study without restrictions on their career pursuits—whether attending institutions locally, such as Weatherford College or Tarleton State University, or studying at universities across the nation and abroad.
Furthermore, we are actively expanding our operational capacity with the goal of transitioning to a year-round distribution schedule. This evolution will allow us to provide steady, continuous financial support across the academic calendar, ensuring our scholars can complete their degrees without delay in both Fall and Spring semesters.
